Library services: About your research

Library services

  1. How do I find out about new publications/resources in my subject?
Your subject librarian may be able to provide you with publishers’ catalogues. It is also possible to set up alerting services with the major publishers and book suppliers, sending you information about new publications electronically.
  2. How do I find out what’s in other libraries?
Look at your library’s website for links to other library catalogues via online collections such as HERO, COPAC and, for London university libraries, the M25 catalogue search (now called Search25[2016]).
  3. Can the library help me with bibliographic management software?
Software such as Reference Manager, RefWorks or Endnote can help you create bibliographies as you search databases and catalogues. Your library may provide training in using such software, either as timetabled sessions or individually.
